O som veio para mostrar que, sim, o foco atual da banda é recuperar a sonoridade de sua época de ouro. E parece que eles estão conseguindo. Aquela vibe funky bem característica da banda está bem evidente aqui.
“Poster Child” traz muitas referências diretas a grandes nomes do mundo da música, como Billy Idol, Led Zeppelin, Duran Duran, Ramones, Judas Priest, Van Morrison, MC5, Thin Lizzi, Jane’s Addiction, Sex Pistols, entre muitos outros. Encontrar as referências na letra é fácil, difícil mesmo é decorar e cantar junto.
Brincadeiras à parte, mesmo com a letra extensa e a longa duração da música (5 minutos e 18 segundos), a sensação é que esse foi mais um grande acerto da nova fase do RHCP. A expectativa para o álbum Unlimited Love só aumenta – o álbum tem data de lançamento marcada para abril deste ano!
